"The Molly Wolly Marcus Show" cushions and lampshades

The "Hej på dig" collection

For his first series of hand embroidered cushions, Marcus presents "Hej på dig". The designer creates an interior collection full of amusing and naive characters inspired by the Swedish way of life and some Scandinavian traditions. This series is made up of 12 unique designs. The collection evokes a peaceful and folkloric universe with evocative names such as Midsommar, Dakar the Viking, Dala the horse and the jockey, Beauty of the fileds, or Santa Lucia .

The removable covers are made of linen ( Libeco, Belgian linen established 1858 ) and the threads are in cotton ( DMC ). The "Molly Wolly Marcus Show" designs are created by Marcus and the covers are hand embroidered in Eastern Africa. Marcus is pleased to collaborate with Kisany, a social enterprise providing high-end crafts training, employment, educational programmes and micro-finance support empowering over 100 women in DR Congo ( Goma ) and Rwanda ( Kigali ).

As well as launching the interior cushions collection, Marcus creates some hand painted lampshades. This series is inspired by the Swedish way of life and the rhythm of the seasons. With all the characters of the Molly Wolly Marcus Show painted by hand, each model becomes a unique piece of decoration.
